Training illustrates how various aspects of a patient’s prescription may affect their frame choice. The knowledge obtained from this section of training provides the skills necessary to dissect a patient’s prescription and recommend the best frame style.
Facial Measurements
Accurate facial measurements are vital to assure the lenses will be aligned properly in front of the eyes. This section reviews how to properly measure a patient to obtain a PD and segment height for their new lenses.
Frame Measurements
The anatomy and measurements of a frame are very important to consider when selecting lenses for your patients. This section provides a detailed illustration of the anatomy of a frame and a description of how these measurements may affect frame comfort and visual acuity for a patient.
Frame Materials and Styles
Frames are available in an array of styles, colors and base curves. This section illustrates base curves in relation to frame style, and provides an overview of the most common materials used to manufacture frames.
Lenses First
Lenses are designed to provide the best visual performance, cosmetic appearance and comfort. This section describes how lenses directly affect these factors and why the lens should be selected before the frame.
Frame Selection
This section provides training on the importance of selecting the best frame to go with the lenses, and how to assist patients by guiding them only to frames that will work for their prescription, face shape and facial measurements.
Challenging Prescriptions
Frame design does not always coincide with the best visual performance, or cosmetic appearance. This section provides examples of challenging prescriptions and how poor frame selection can be detrimental to a patient’s satisfaction with their eyewear purchase.
Dispensing New Eyewear
Delivery of the patient’s new eyewear is the final step in assuring satisfaction with their eyewear purchase. This section provides training on how to enhance the patient’s experience when they pick-up their eyewear.
